At Farsley Farfield, we pride ourselves on giving children as many musical opportunities as possible. Above is a video of a Year 4 child who had asked to perform during an assembly. Her performance blew us away and we look forward to see how her marvellous talent progresses!
Along with the school choir, children are given chance to learn several instruments during their time here through after school clubs and private tuition. Children learn to read and play music and, should they wish to, perform during Special Mention assemblies to show off their talent.
From recorder to oboe, guitar to violin, piano to voice, children have the chance to enjoy learning a wonderful skill that will stay with them for the rest of their lives.
Here are a group of recorder players from July 2014.
We are also home to Sing and Strum, an after school ukelele group which is led by Mrs Fisher and Mr Sharp. The group is open to children and parents from Year 2 to Year 6 and we are delighted to welcome members from the community who wish to learn!
It’s not just the children who are talented! The staff at Farfield include pianists, ukeleleists, guitarists, cajonists, singers and many more. Some even show off their talents during assemblies…
The opportunities for musical enjoyment are endless at Farfield, look out for the progress of our fabulous musicians in our weekly blogs!
